Aromatherapy Body Powder Recipe

I love making this body powder recipe because it is natural, inexpensive, easy to make and can be adapted to include your favorite skin-safe essential oils. It is ideal for those looking for an absorbent body powder that is talc free.

Ingredients:

  • 30 drops Lavender Essential Oil or other desired essential oil(s)
  • 4 ounces Arrowroot Powder and/or Non-GMO Cornstarch
  • 4 ounce Body Powder Sifter Container

Aromatherapy Body PowderDirections: Add the Arrowroot Powder and/or Non-GMO Cornstarch to a large mixing bowl. Arrowroot Powder tends to be a little pricier than Cornstarch, but it offers a silkier feel.

If you have oilier skin, you may substitute up to 1/2 oz. White Kaolin Powder for the Arrowroot Powder/Cornstarch in this recipe. White Kaolin Clay is a clay that helps to absorb oil.

After you have placed your powdered ingredients into the mixing bowl, add the Lavender Essential Oil. Mix the essential oil into the powdered ingredients well. Package your Aromatherapy Body Powder in a Body Powder Sifter Container.

Substitutions: This blend may be adapted for use with your favorite essential oils, but remember to use only essential oils that are safe and beneficial for the skin.

Instructions for Use: Apply as you would any other body powder. Avoid the eyes, muscous membranes, mouth, genitals and other sensitive areas of the body.
