The Aromatherapy Beauty Guide is an indispensable, necessary book for everyone interested in making effective, natural skin and hair care products for personal use.
I wish this book was available when I first began formulating my own personal skin and hair care products years ago! It would have saved me a lot of time of trial and error.
Author Danielle Sade offers over 30 years of experience in utilizing aromatherapy and complementary health modalities. She is the founder of a well respected aromatherapy school, and has served three terms as the president of the Canadian Federation of Aromatherapists.
The Aromatherapy Beauty Guide is beautifully designed and is complemented by numerous color photographs and beautiful charts, tables and graphs.
This is likely the most in-depth and responsible book I've seen in formulating personal care products using essential oils and other natural ingredients. Having said that, I recommend that those eager to make their own products supplement the introductory material present in The Aromatherapy Beauty Guide with books that elaborate on skin care, carriers oils, essential oils and essential oil safety.

Hydrosols (Hydrolats)
Hydrosols offer numerous benefits and can play an important part within personal care. Squeezed within the Skin Toners section, The Aromatherapy Beauty Guide explains what they are and provides very brief profiles for five hydrosols. If a second edition of the book is planned, I would love to see more coverage of hydrosols and their added benefits within personal care formulations.
